Jimmy Mitchell <jmitch@erskine.edu> sends in a Vid film
of Eupfhoria. One of the hardest of the Marathon
levels to Vid. This films shows the level completely cleaned out. Clean out all levels...
that's what we say. You can find it on the Eupfhoria
page in the Vidmaster Tips & Tricks section.
May 22, 1997
He said he would do it... it has now been done. Jim Mitchell's new Marathon Vid Pack.
Many of Jim's original Marathon levels have been redone. Lot's of new secrets shown.
Many are fist only films. You can get them
here.
These films can also be found on the Trilogy CD.

Pushing the undiscovered frontiers of vidness... Jimmy Mitchell <jmitch@erskine.edu>
shows that Hang Time on Bigger Guns Nearby is not
really necessary. See the Vidmaster Tips & Tricks section.

Aaron Snyder <wittnietz@datatek.com> writes:
I just watched your most recent "VidTip" film on "Bigger Guns Nearby" and
think that I've found the answer as to what "Frog Blast the Vent Core!"
from M2 means: along the way, you give map views of two
interestingly-named areas: "BioVent Core #88A" and "BioVent Core #88B". Between
these areas is a raised hallway containing a BioBus chip
(Hypervision power-up), but one can only get there by grenade-hopping.
Get it? Grenade-hopping might be renamed "Frog blasting."
So, on this interpretation, "Frog Blast the Vent Core!" might merely mean
"Grenade hop in the BioVent Core on 'Bigger Guns...'!"
Interesting interpretation. Is "Frog Blast" 'Zartuese' for grenade-hopping?
Could be. Maybe it's time for Doug Zartman to reveal ALL? ;-)
Added Bigger Guns Nearby to the
Vidmaster Tips & Tricks section.
Just in! Jimmy Mitchell <jmitch@erskine.edu> sends in a Vid film
of Bigger Guns Nearby. Like yesterday's one
this was also prompted by those films in the Marathon Magazine. You can find
it in the Vidmaster Tips & Tricks section. Great film. :-)
May 7, 1997
Jimmy Mitchell <jmitch@erskine.edu> wrote to say that the new Marathon Magazine
contained some Marathon Vidmaster films. Great!... this old timer just loves
watching vid films... especially if they are on the decks of the UESC Marathon.
It's hard to describe my reaction... so I made a film instead -
??? get your guns...
May 6, 1997
Here are two gentlemen pushing the boundaries of Vidness.
Jimmy Mitchell <jmitch@erskine.edu> completes Acme Station
for the fifth time... this time with fists only AND no recharging.
Watch in stunned disbelief at Acme Station Rage 2.
Rich Davis <RDavis235@aol.com> vids the Marathon levels
Blaspheme Quarantine and
Shake Before Using.... These are fist only films.
You can get them here.
May 3, 1997
More daring do from Jimmy Mitchell <jmitch@erskine.edu>. Not content with three
films of Acme Station Jimmy does a fourth one. Note how
each film in his package
Acme Station Rage gets more elaborate. In film #4 Jimmy completes the level without
recharging. Yes folks! Poenas dare all the way.
May 1, 1997
Ever wanted to vid Acme Station but can't hack it?
Aaron Bergman <abergman@pantheon.yale.edu> sends in some useful tips for
vidding this level. You can read them in the
Vidmaster Tips & Tricks section
Not to be out done Jimmy Mitchell <jmitch@erskine.edu> sends in an additional
two vid films of Acme Station. You can see all three
of Jimmy's Acme films in his package
The Acme Station Trilogy set
Apr 27, 1997
Aaron Bergman <abergman@pantheon.yale.edu> writes:
"I hope this allays whatever
fears you might have."
Aaron you Rule! :-)
Apr 26, 1997
Yes folks we have another contender!. Aaron Bergman <abergman@pantheon.yale.edu>,
a renowned mouser, completes the Infinity level
Acme Station - the King of levels. If you think you are Big
Time this level will show you just how big you really are! Try this level at you peril.
Some things to note about this film. The ending cuts off just as Aaron reaches the final
terminal. I am assured that he didn't get whomped by those purples fighters
sneaking up behind him. ;-) Also Aaron didn't punch the switches. :-( You can get Aaron's
film here.
Apr 24, 1997
Rich Davis <RDavis235@aol.com> returns with three new Marathon Vidmaster films
of the levels Fire! Fire! Fire! Fire! Fire!,
Welcome to the Revolution...,
and Try again. The last two are fist only films except where
it is necessary to use a weapon. Nice to see more vid films from the original Marathon.
They have been added to Rich's previous Vidmaster package. You can get them
here. Rich is working on other
Marathon films so watch this space. :-)
Added a new film of Try again to the
Vidmaster Tips & Tricks section. It's a complete
film of this level including getting to the secret terminal room. Show all secrets that's
what we say.
Apr 15, 1997
Many thanks to Jimmy Mitchell <jmitch@erskine.edu> for sending us his films
of all 33 Marathon Infinity levels. His complete Infinity Vidmaster package can be found
here
Jimmy also has a web page at
http://www.erskine.edu/jmitch/
where you find his "2 Cents on Vidmastery and Mouse
players vs. Keyboard players". Makes for interesting reading.
Apr 10, 1997
Rich Davis <RDavis235@aol.com> sends us the first of hopefully a number of
Marathon Vidmaster films. Nice to see that other people still like to Vid these
original levels. Gun? Fist? Sheetmetal! is a film of
Defend THIS! with a difference. Rich likes to watch
Pfhor being crushed wherever possible! Don't try this at home folks. ;-)
Rich also points out that "There is no loneliness like that
of the vidmaster!". We have to agree with this. Vidmastery is about you,
the Pfhor, and Marathon's 88 solo levels.
Apr 6, 1997
Hey what happened? No updates for ages!
Added a new film of Beware of Low-Flying Defense Drones... to the
Vidmaster Tips & Tricks section. It's one of those
no recharging, no hits films. Takes all of two minutes... that sort of thing.
The Vid Archives.
