What's New Oct - Dec 1997

Hey... hey... hey... two months without an update... what's going on here?

Let's get this show on the road... a new year beckons. To kick start the New Year in here is a vid tip for We're Everywhere. Enjoy.

Nov 1, 1997
Many thanks to Jimmy Mitchell <jmitch@erskine.edu>, maintainer of the Tempus Irae Film Archive, for sending in a special Vid pack containing seven of his best films. The films include:

  • Bigger Guns Nearby
  • Defend THIS!
  • Eupfhoria
  • Waterloo Waterpark
  • Acme Station
  • Hang Brain
  • You Think You're Big Time? You're Gonna Die Big Time!
Jimmy's film of Defend THIS! is brand new. A fist only, no recharging, dive into mêlée type film. The way we like it - poenas dare stuff. You can get the pack here. These seven films will appear along with seven net films in the December issue of Macaddict.

Complete One thousand thousand slimy things in less than two minutes with NO hits? You got to be kidding? Todd Keating <cxtdk@eiu.edu> shows how it can be done in little over a minute and a half using a 'monsterous' grenade climb. Check the new One thousand thousand slimy things page in the Vidmaster Tips & Tricks section for details. Move over Kiyoto Maeda there is a new King in town... and he's climbing with Style.

Many thanks to Justin Kitt <Justin_K@mindless.com> for sending in a set of films of the Infinity level Acme Station - the King of levels. Justin joins the ranks of the few. His 2nd film is completed without recharging. Watch as he walks the edge. You can get his films here

There are IIHARL films and there are IIHARL films... but these must be THE IIHARL films. Todd Keating <cxtdk@eiu.edu> does the Infinity version of If I Had a Rocket Launcher, I'd Make Somebody Pay both forwards and backwards. Two films of total action, dive into the mêlée stuff. Little running back to the recharging here. Todd uses grenading jumping to great effect, bypassing slow doors and exploring the level fully. A new way of getting to the rocket launcher is also shown in the backwards film. And if you think grenade jumping is easy just try it on this level with no mistakes. Poenas dare! You can get the films here

The Marathon Vidmasters' Page is one year old today. :-)

Over the year we've watched countless films and made numerous on-line friends (and some enemies). To those who have sent in films we thank you all. Thanks to you - Vidmastery is alive and well. Long may it last. Remember... somewhere in the heavens... they are waiting...

And when the first Colony Ship does venture out into space you can be damn sure they'll be weapons onboard... maybe even a cyborg. ;-)

To help answer all the many questions we receive each week here is the long awaited FAQ section.

Added a Vid tip for the Marathon 2 level Come and Take your Medicine. Don't believe everything Durandal says. Find the right path... eat the path! See Come and Take your Medicinee page in the Vidmaster Tips & Tricks section for details.
