Vidmasters?... They're Everywhere!

Vidmasters maybe, but not Vidmaster films, indeed they are quite rare. But you may know of a film(s) or have your own film(s) you'd like to share. If so, send it to us and we'll add it to the ranks of the few. Let the people judge - Vidmaster or Spazeroid?

- Remember -

It's not how many levels you do,
it's how you do them.

Vidmaster Films - from around the world

Jason Jones
<jjones@bungie.com>

JasonRulesTCfilms.sit.hqx Five Marathon films by Jason Jones. These are from the folder called "Jason Rules on Total Carnage" on the Marathon CD. Unfortunately only one of the five films is complete, Beware of Low-Flying Defense Drones..., the other four are:

Jason's Bob-B-Q film was originally posted on comp.sys.mac.games way back in Jan '95 in response to a claim that this level was impossible to Vid.

Jason wrote:

<tl1m+@andrew.cmu.edu> writes:
>Problem is there aren't any easily accessible (read : no) weapons on the

ah, grasshopper, the most accessable weapon of all is your own fists,
you must learn to lay aside your weapons of steel and use your flesh.

<grin>

i'm posting the binhex'd BBQ film in it's own thread. i hope that
everyone agrees after watching it that luck played no part in this
replay.

For it's time it was a classic. Well worth watching even now.

Greg Kirkpatrick
<gregk@grayphics.com>

and

Randy Reddig
<ydnar@doubleaught.com>

Greg Kirkpatrick (aka toolator) and Randy Reddig (aka don juan) each do If I Had a Rocket Launcher, I'd Make Somebody Pay in If and Only If (.sit or .zip).

Concerning this level Randy wrote on alt.games.marathon:

" ...the trick is to open the doors as soon as you get to the switches, kill all you can with the shotguns, get the rocket launcher, and go to town on the aliens, going back through the passageways to the first rooms."
Nice to see Greg Vid one of his own levels.

Beserker_Phfilms.sit.hqx is a package containing two early Total Carnage films by Randy Reddig. These date from March 1995. The films are Arrival and Bigger Guns Nearby.

Michio Hashimoto
<miha@hi-ho.ne.jp>

Hamish Sinclair
<Hamish.Sinclair123@gmail.com>

"I'm too old for this lark!"

So said the Marathoner who can't find his boots. Hamish's ambition is to Vid that perfect level. The Tao of Vidness. Quality not quantity. But that's what happens when you get old - you can't hack the numbers game. He did find his boots to complete a few levels. You'll find them on this site... but he can't exactly remember where... that's something else that happens when you get old!

Well after a decade he eventually found them. Hamish has provided vid tips for the following levels:

Arrival
Bigger Guns Nearby
Never Burn Money A really weird film... why go through the Deprivation Chamber TWICE? What happens the second time?
Defend THIS!
Couch Fishing
Cool Fusion
G4 Sunbathing His favorite level
Colony Ship For Sale, Cheap
Beware of Low-Flying Defense Drones...
Try again
Ingue Ferroque
Come and Take your Medicine
We're Everywhere
If I Had a Rocket Launcher, I'd Make Somebody Pay
The Big House A vid tip for this level? Bizarre but true!
Whatever You Please
Eat the Path
