Frame building and Monitor installation:
I cut out [using the exacto-blade] the shape of the monitor from the Styrofoam faceplate - following the lines I had drawn on earlier.
Get the frame built as soon as possible, is critical to getting the right sizes and positioning of all of the term's elements.
Dimensions:15" length x 27" wide x15" high.
Two pieces of wood, serving as a bottom and structural roof for the frame (1/2" in thickness) are screwed into place, attaching it to the frame. The Monitor was affixed to this piece of wood.
Odd thing was, when the Monitor was first screwed (using two metal hoops that were part of the existing monitor chassey) to the wooden roof work, something was wrong.
I turned on the monitor with a system hooked up to it, and the Marathon logo was upside down!
^_^
So, the whole frame (the faceplate hasn't been attached yet) had to be flipped over, monitor still affixed. 4" worth of wooden boosters had to be screwed in to give the monitor some support.
After nailing it together, another booster piece of wood was nailed on the far side to support the LC 457. This was also installed to get the Disk Drive in line with where it would appear on the faceplate.
