citadel
Filename: citadel.jpg
Size: 640 x 972 pixels
Date: November 1995 (Marathon 2: Durandal)
About: Citadel. Chapter IV of Marathon 2: Durandal.
One of ten illustrations Craig did for the game.

In the game this Chapter screen slowly scrolls downwards revealing the player and title of the Chapter.

It has been pointed out that the S'pht image portrayed in the Citadel Chapter screen does not match what we know about the original S'pht from the game. It is likely that Craig did not know this detail when he created the Citadel image. Thus he drew the S'pht as they were now rather than what they looked like over a 1000 years ago.

HOLY GOOD GOOGALY MOOGALY! You're THIS GUY!?!?!?? I've played all the Marathon games, but the art in the older ones always blew a big friggin' hole in Halo's glossy vinear. Wow wow wow is all I thought when I finally beat that one level and then saw the pan of this picture.

Very nice, very detailed. But... is it a compiler? Or something else?
