The Best KTMWTB Marathon Maps

Coop Levels should have enough ammo and weapons for all players, room to move, and multiple goals. For more complete guidelines, see the Guidelines page.

Good Bungie examples of excellent Cooperative levels are:

Waterloo Waterpark

From its perfectly sized first room to its halls and secret areas, this level accommodates large parties and small with elegance. Spread out ammo allows access for several players instead of one being forced to pick it all up. The monsters appear and activate in quantities sufficient for several players to battle which is emphasized by the sizes of the rooms, just large enough to fit all the players and monsters at once. When not fighting the Pfhor, the players will have several objectives to fulfill. Two uplink switches, an assault rifle and a shotgun will keep every player busy.

All Roads Lead to Sol...

This level is a series of great cooperative battles where you get to fight all of your enemies with pretty much all of the weapons. Ammunition for most of the weapons is unlimited on this level, although some will become inaccessible towards the end. (But hey, when you have SPNKR ammo, what do you need other ammo for, anyway?) On this level, SPNKR ammo works nicely against the Juggernauts. Armed with these weapons, the team can run around the great reservoirs of lava with no trouble. For solo players, the flooding of the first half of the level can be a nasty surprise, but for co-op players this causes no great problem as players will still be able to reincarnate and continue the battle.

Third-Party Coop Standouts

As yet there are no outstanding third-party coop levels.

There are many solo scenarios, but all have been optimized for one player. Some have features that were added for coop play, but in all cases, these seem like afterthoughts, not specific design considerations. We would love to see levels that fit our criteria...
