It is identified as level "00". When I "command/option/begin new game" with the double zeros all that I get is "Arrival". The same thing happens with "000" and, of course, "0": Arrival. I was greatly excited about the prospect of a heretofor unseen Marathon level and rushed to check it out, but merely wound up disappointed and perplexed. Can anyone shed any light on this? Well I just downloaded Mia and it certainly didn't list any secret levels in the Map file. I've talked to the author, and seeing as the cats out of the bag, I'll let you know he might pay his dues for it. He always intended to make the level, and now he can with all of the editors out there. Sneaky bastard... Anyway, it was all in good fun (even as ResEdit isn't too fun for sniffing around files)... Either way, Secrets 1.5 is damn good. hobbes@eliza.netaxis.com From: petersen@halcyon.com (Randall K Petersen) Newsgroups: comp.sys.mac.games Subject: Re: Secret Marathon Level? I emailed the author of Marathon Secrets about this. He admitted that "A Good Way to Die" does not exist - just a little joke. BUT he says he does intend to create that level when a full-fledged level editor is available. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Randy Petersen AKA Arzach _(:)-> <petersen@halcyon.com> Northwest Nexus (preferred) <rkp@u.washington.edu> University of Washington <rkpetersen@aol.com> America Online <72123.532@cis.com> Compu$erve --------------------------------------------------------------------- From: rms8254@imap1.asu.edu Newsgroups: comp.sys.mac.games Subject: Re: Secret Marathon Level? There isn't any graphics for such a creature, and there isn't a color table to make it possible. So yes, it's a joke. -- L8r, ---------- Randallsan ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ShawComp Studios Fax: (602) 968-6297 Computer Entertainment eMail: rms8254@asu.edu -------------------------------------------------------------------------
