Naturally I went right to the finals to see how good the best players were. I couldn't believe what I saw... They sucked! I heard that Cybernator cheated or something like that, and that he said that he deserved to win. Well, from what I saw, I deserved to win becuase I could have kicked all of those players inside out! (I didn't play in it, but I REALLY wish I had!) -=-Daniel Quaroni -=-goat@pelican.cit.cornell.edu From: bbarry@podbox.UUCP (Byron Barry) Message-ID: <bbarry.2iao@podbox.UUCP> Newsgroups: comp.sys.mac.games Subject: Re: Marathon tourney players SUCKED! Would that permit Marathon to work over an Internet connection or is it PC-only software? If it works, then tournament champions can be challenged and play other on the network. >Because: Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I agree that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but unless they actually play against those who won the Macworld tournament, it doesn't mean anything. It's just talk; talk is cheap. Cybernator is on the developer team, and you can also see him on the demo. If you let the demo play long enough you will see him. So he was playing marathon MONTHS before the tourney. If you let the demo play long enough you will see him. So he was > playing marathon MONTHS before the tourney. That's news to me. Just for clarification, I'm the real CYBERNATOR. I did not start playing the full version of Marathon until a few days before Macworld started. Since I was staying at a hotel in SF (the Marriott's, of course), the only time that I was playing Marathon was at the show itself. If I was on the developer team, I wouldn't have played and I doubt that Bungie would have even allowed me to play because it would be unfair. Anyone is welcome to ask Bungie directly if they don't believe me. Around February, I did learn of some official Beta testers who work for Apple and who are now friends of my sister(she now works for apple). I haven't met them yet but in March I'm going to play them. Apparently, because they were testers, Bungie asked them not to play because they SUPPOSEDLY would have beaten everybody. So when I play them, they'll see how they compared against the winner of the tournament. I think I'll go check the demo to see if that's true. Also, if you watch any of my films, you'll note that I always use caps for CYBERNATOR, a good way to distinguish the real CYBERNATOR from imposters. Happy Marathonning! Mike Garrison
