new info up on duality's backstory: sounds like some kind of religious war
is going on, then a warrior (the player?) falls from the sky and proceeds
to kick butt.

also something about a 1,000 year cycle...(eerie feeling of deja vu here).
great minds (bungie and doubleaught) thinking alike, or coded apocalyptic
messages about the millenium? you be the judge.

also, check out the miner's quote about patience. doubleaught's sly way of
telling us "it'll be ready when it's ready"?

<<also something about a 1,000 year cycle...>>

actually, that's a "thousand year storm", an odd phemomena that has been
documented where, around ever thousand years, a really big storm strikes.
We're supposed to be getting one out here in Southern California this
winter. Wait a sec... Duality's supposed to be coming this winter too...
gee, I wonder.......

I though the Bungie member who had done the story was now at
DoubleAught. If he's doing the Duality story too, then wouldn't that be
one great mind working alike?

Perhaps. But "Aim for the legs, and shoot twice. Covet your life,
not your bullets." doesn't seem to carry too much of a personal message.
 Not for me, anyways.

Sounds suspiciously reminiscent of ZPC's story line, in which the ruling
monarchy is overthrown by the Black Brethren and the psionic king-to-be is
shot into space in a coffin... the Black Brethren suppress and feed off
the kingdom until the king falls back to the planet to take back the
throne.

Bryan Holland-Minkley (beh+@andrew.cmu.edu) quoted me on recent changes at
doubleaught's duality page:
>> >>also, check out the miner's quote about patience. doubleaught's sly
way of telling us "it'll be ready when it's ready"?<< <<

and responded:
>>Perhaps. But "Aim for the legs, and shoot twice. Covet your life,

 Not for me, anyways.<<

was referring to the NEW quote--they change them periodically (phforrest,
you're keeping a log of all of them, right?):

"Patience never killed a man, only darkness and fear." Miner's proverb

sounds to me like a hint that the boxes haven't gone to the printers yet,
if you catch my drift...

uh... um... [digs through papers on desk]... lemme find it here... [opens
Note Pad, quickly flips through several 100 pages of virtual notes]... here
it is! My assignments sheet! [scrolls down large body of text]... uh...
odd-job man and anything else for Obsidian Software... coordinator /
mapmaker / shapes / sounds / everything for Project More... story guy and
big dude in charge of telling Svy what to do with Rameses.... guy who's
memorised all the little tiny knick-knacks from Bungie/DoubleAught
stories... nope, I don't see "logger of text on Duality page" anywhere
here. What gave you the idea that *I*, little Forrest of Nowhereville,
would be in charge of suck a big, important task?
