Just a couple of things on the topic of everyone's favorite game... =)

First, a question: anyone know what the minimum video support is/will be
for Marathon? I'm home on vacation right now, and the best I can get
ahold of are: 8-bit LC III or Duo 280 (greyscale, 4-bit?). I think it
would be absolutely hilarious if the demo came out while my 7100/66AV
was sitting idle in my room where I couldn't get to it...

Next, I decided to switch back to AOL today, so in browsing the Bungie
area, I came upon the following post. It's pretty funny... I never
realized I was out among the unwashed here on the Net. =)

It's a shame; our folder is beginning to look as bad as
comp.sys.mac.games, that sewer of posturing, rudeness, baseless rumors,
and unprovoked attacks. I go there only when I have to, and it's too
bad, because that could be a useful service if people just kept their
cool.

Many people DO keep things in perspective, and have written me to
express their support and show that they understand that software design
is a tricky business under the best of circumstances. You know who you
are - thank you, you've all shown a lot of class.

To everyone who is sending Instant Messages to me - please stop! I
can't get anything done online. Henceforth, until the game ships, I
won't respond to any Instant Messages. Don't take it personally, it's
just not feasible.

Now, I thought the demo was ready to go, and thought it would be out
last weekend, so I told people that, which was a mistake. The demo will
be out very soon, but that's all I can say.

Well, that was refreshing!

Anyway, whenever the demo does show up, I'll be uploading it to my FTP
server where folks in the Pennsylvania area can get to it reasonably
quickly. Look on lightspeed.pc.cc.cmu.edu in the games/ directory.

Thanks a bunch,
