chamber
Filename: chamber.jpeg
Size: 486 x 720 pixels
Date: May 1998 (RuGGeR's Tavern on Hotline)
About: Other than the filename 'chamber' nothing else is known.

Given all the references to 'chamber' or 'chambers' throughout the three games the most likely candidate is a 'Pfhor stasis chamber'. Indeed it is possible that this was originally intended to be the Volunteers Chapter screen since the opening terminal refers to them, namely:

I have been reviving these colonists and
asking for volunteers on the following
terms: assist us and control your own
destiny, refuse and face indefinite return
to the unreliable Pfhor stasis chambers.

Few are refusing.

Since the 'chamber' image did not make the cut it might explain why the Enforcer image was used for the Volunteers Chapter screen even though there are no Enforcers in this Chapter.

Okay, you got me, what is it?

Meeeep, it looks to me like a guy on an operating table with lots of pipes sticking into him

I'm as confused as you two are. What this has to do with Bungie I do not know. I'm sure I'll see it once I'm told what it is.

Its probly ol Recon No. 54 getting agumented, "Grafted to machines his makers did not fully understand..."

I think it may be as simple as a similacrum being "built," but who knows.

It's probably somewhere on the Pfhor ship in M1. Look at the green monitor with [?alien] writing. It could be Strauss's dissecting table.

You know, I was thinking about that stuff at the top-- Looks abit like smoke. 'Minds me of those zappy things for Compilers in Infinity... As for it being Pfhor, the writing does resemble Pfhor writing, but the colors just don't seem wild enough (purples, yellows, much more Pfhorish). Strauss was autopsing for the Pfhor? Erm, or you mean where Strauss was dissected?? I thought he just disappeared, I don't recall Durandal mentioning him after he asks you to go find him...

Maybe it's a chamber of a fusion gun. ;)

It's a car on a train, being pulled from a weird point of view... sheesh.

It's a Grunt (Halo) on a keyboard (piano), and played so hard his head exploded (hence the smoke)

Well we can see a guy's nipples and i think the area where the smoke is coming from is a mouth and the dude's head is pointing upward. He might have some giant pole / stick / cube / face probe going into his mouth. Just my 2 cents.

The making of a BOB bomb? The arm on the left is robotic, being installed. I think the "smoke" is actually a black tube with a glossy reflection on it. I think this fella might be telling you to frog blast the vent core in a few hours.
