Update

Don't panic people, the stories are ok!

The Marathon Fan Fiction Archive recieves all the entire 'Breaking The Barrier' series by REB. Since the closing of the M1A1 site (where his nicley formated stores were found), the Matrix-Marathon Story hybrid's were homeless. Until now. Enjoy, thanks to REB!

Breaking The Barrier| Immune
Breaking The Barrier | Exception To The Rule
Breaking The Barrier| Back To Abnormality

Some changes will hopfully be enacted in the new year to MaraFF to spotlight some of our amazing Marathon authors. Keep your eye on the heavens. And if you have time, here too.

Nothing to report captain ...

After months in deep sleep, nothing of consequence exists to be reported.
All crew accounted for. Dream states nominal.
The twilight is dwindling, the destination is just out of reach.

Nothing to report captain. I'm still waiting.
Signing off.

I'm awake - really!

Make over madness!

The Marathon Fan Fiction Archive receives a major workover. All archived stories now have a new template (with some notable exceptions). The main text colour for MaraFF's pages are now lighter and we're sporting a nice new logo. Thanks goes out to REB for his efforts with the logo and colour consultation.

The first new story to have MaraFF's makeover is an wonderfull work of Yossarian's:

Check it out:

I'm awake - really!

From the depths emerges:

The continuation of Vaxuum BOB's story!

Submitted last week, I was only able to upload it tonight. Sorry for the delay!

Check it out:

Nearer Arrivals

On unrelated news, WMaiD is progressing at an insane pace. I've totally revamped (sp?) the Jjaro Terminal levels. So much so, that even the beta testers will have trouble reconizing them.
Still aiming for a mid July release date.

Sleeping Gods awaken

After a two month dead zone, new submission are here!

A new story by Vaxuum BOB! Interesting stuff:

Dangerous Disances
In other news, thanks goes out to Steve Levinson for allowing an adaption of his story "Welcome to the Rebellion".

For my OAC Writers Craft Class, a friend of mine Justin Vessair and myself had to create a childrens book.

What better way to make one (illustrations and all) than set it in the Marathon universe!

The Tale of Seefit

To avoid confusion, the word "Seefit" replaces "S'pht" in the story. This is because this is a story directed at children around 9-13 years old. I know I couldn't pronounce S'pht back in 1994 at the age of 9. Therefore, I doubt my teacher who marked it would either.

(The animated gif was created by : Callie21V. I was so impressed, I had to use it as the update just this once.)

More work from Blayne

The moon is rising:

Deimos

A new story by myself, written a few weeks ago.

Thanks goes out to Scifiteki for the grammar/error checking assistance.

A new Feedback Forum for the MaraFF is now available, thanks to Claude for the code.

A small update to the MaraFF mainpage has been added as well. Enjoy.

_Wow_!

I was truly impressed with Yossarian's two new submissions:

Ghosts of Wheeling
and
Marathon Man

As Yossarian put it:

If you can't tell by reading them, they are connected...I would strongly suggest that, if given the choice to have them both available for reading at the same time, the reader should read "Ghosts of Wheeling" before "Marathon Man". It would probably sit better that way.

I'd like people to discuss the implications these two stories (or one large one, in two parts it seems) have on the Dream sequences of Marathon Infinity/Rubicon at the Marathon Story Forum.

They open up some insights similar to those Scifiteki brought up in his story "In Your Nature", in relation to the term 'Gherrit White'. Similar, yet prodoundly different.
Great stuff all around!

He keeps writing and writing... it's great!

When Worlds Go 'Thunk!'

Scifiteki sent this sorty in a few days ago, but due to exams, it's only being posted now.
As a side note: WMaiD will enter final beta once my exams are over. I now see the wisdom in Bungie's "Its done when its done" policy...

Change

An Amazing New Story from Steve Levinson arrived in my inbox a few days ago.
As Steve describes it:

This story is, as far as I know, a first.
It is a first person story about a S'pht compiler on the Marathon. So little has been written from the S'pht vantage point, if at all and, in the Marathon trilogy, the only instance that I can think of with a direct S'pht-human correspondence is in the level "Come and Take Your Medicine" in M2.
Among 3rd party scenarios, only Tempus Irae dos the S'pht any justice as beings that can communicate. I thought that it's high time someone wrote a story for Marathon FF from a S'pht vantage point. I hope you and your fans like it.

Welcome to the Revolution

Sadly, Steve also mentioned that this may be his 'first and possibly last submission' to the MaraFF due to time constraints. An amazing first/last entry I'd say!

Change

News of this past year has been archived, now visible for everyones delight in the sidebar.
The first story of 2003, was submitted by Boomer. As he puts it: "Another action filled story of carnage and shidd! "
Well said.

Carnage and Shidd.

I'm currently working on a working replica of a Marathon Terminal, my online comic, while juggling WMaiD and school. Keep the fan fiction rolling, however. I'll always find time to post peoples work.
